The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly has halted an unauthorised construction project near the Bawaleshie traffic light after developers defied earlier directives to stop work.
According to the Assembly, the developers had been cautioned multiple times to cease operations but continued building without approval.
The enforcement exercise, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dr. Michael Mensah, was carried out on Wednesday, October 22, with support from armed police officers.
Addressing the media after the operation, Dr. Mensah warned that the Assembly would not tolerate illegal construction activities within the municipality.
