The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has described corruption as a major obstacle to the country’s development.

Speaking at this year’s Asogli Yam Festival on Sunday October 5, Togbe Afede highlighted the importance of honesty and integrity in driving national progress.

He called on both political and traditional leaders to uphold truthfulness as an essential pillar for building a progressive and prosperous society.

“Corruption has been a stumbling block to our development and it is the result of our inability to hold on to the path of truth, the path of strictest honesty.

“That is why the theme for today’s durbar focuses on honesty, focuses on unity, peace and prosperity. Together in unity and prosperity we build a just, peaceful, prosperous nation,” Togbe Afede said.
