The Kevin Okyere Foundation has entreated corporate Ghana, civil society organisations, and individuals to play a more active role in supporting underprivileged communities because government alone cannot meet all the needs of citizens.
Chairperson of the Foundation, Kevin Okyere made the appeal during a World Food Day outreach at Fadama in Accra on Thursday October 16, 2025.
The Foundation distributed food items to about 400 residents as support to alleviate food insecurity and promote social inclusion.

Mr. Okyere said the foundation’s mission is to bridge inequality and promote sustainable livelihoods, adding that citizens must take shared responsibility for national development.
“The Foundation picks different locations for different activities and we felt that this area deserves something special today being World Food Day. Government cannot do it all by itself. We as citizens, civil society and corporations must come together and share ideas on how to make this country a better place,” he mentioned.

As part of the celebration, the Foundation also donated food supplies to the residence of the National Chief Imam and the Nurudeen Children’s Home, as commitment to humanitarian service.
Mr. Okyere further disclosed plans to roll out vocational training initiatives to equip the underprivileged with employable skills to help them secure jobs both locally and abroad.
“We are even looking at vocational opportunities for the under privileged whereby we can support them with something they can hope to get jobs. So all of us need to come together to make this country a better place.”

He added that the foundation, which has undertaken several initiatives across the country in areas such as education, health and community development, will continue to extend its reach to more vulnerable communities.
