Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says Ghana must prove its football pedigree when the national team faces Comoros this weekend in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup Group I qualifier.
Ghana will host Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at 19:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In recent years, Comoros have stunned Ghana with unexpected victories — including a 3-2 win that knocked the Black Stars out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and a 1-0 triumph in the first leg of the 2024 World Cup qualifiers.
Despite Ghana’s emphatic 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic, which all but secured their place at next year’s World Cup, Agyemang-Badu believes the team must use the match to send a clear message.
“They have been a thorn in our flesh, and we want to teach them that we are a football nation more than them,” he said.
“It will be a very exciting game, a celebration game, and we are going to beat them,” Agyemang-Badu added in an exclusive interview with Channel One TV.
Agyemang-Badu represented Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
