The Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu, has assured residents of Ayi-Mensah, Danfa, and Otinibi of the government’s commitment to improving road and physical infrastructure in the area.
He stated that the deplorable state of the Ayi-Mensah–Danfa–Otinibi road has long been a major concern for residents.
He revealed that the entire stretch, extending to the Amrahia enclave, will finally undergo full construction after many years of neglect.
It will be recalled that on October 25, 2021, residents of Danfa and Otinibi, together with their MP, staged a massive demonstration, blocking the road to demand urgent intervention from authorities.

Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony that took place on Thursday, November 27 to officially commence construction works, Francis Xavier Sosu recounted the hardships the poor road network has imposed on residents, including the struggles faced by patients in accessing healthcare.

“In my first year as an MP in 2021, I had to lead a demonstration to fight for this road. Now, in my first year under an NDC government, we are here with a contractor ready to begin work. That is the difference between the NDC and the NPP government.
“Once the NPP destroys, the NDC builds. I am very grateful to His Excellency the President and the Minister for Roads for giving us this opportunity for contractors to finally start work.”
He further emphasized that the project aligns with the government’s broader “reset agenda.”
“I know this is not a nine-day wonder. His Excellency the President and the Minister for Roads are committed to building Madina its road infrastructure and all other physical developments needed to make it a better place.
“It has been difficult for residents. We have the Danfa Medical Center here, and when people are going to the hospital pregnant women, children, the elderly it becomes very challenging because the road is not good. But I am glad that today, work has finally begun.”
