The appeal filed by fetish priestess–turned–evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, who is serving a 15-year prison sentence, progressed at the Amasaman High Court on December 4 after the judge issued fresh directives to both parties.

Her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, told Citi News that the defence has been given two weeks to file its written address. The prosecution will then have one month, from the date it receives the defence’s submission, to file its response.

The case has been adjourned to January 21, 2025, for a status update and the scheduling of a judgment date.

However, proceedings were briefly delayed when the prosecution informed the court that the record of appeal did not include the Pen drive containing video evidence from the church service at the centre of the case.

The defence requested that the matter be stood down to allow copies of the video files to be retrieved from the court’s docket and handed over to the Attorney General’s office. The court granted the request, and the necessary materials were provided, enabling the hearing to continue.

Nana Agradaa is challenging her conviction and sentence, arguing that the trial process was unfair, that the evidence did not support the verdict, and that the 15-year jail term imposed on July 3, 2025, for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence is excessive.
