Ghana’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Kojo Choi, has said that the country is entering “a new era of genuine partnership and shared destiny” with Korea as both nations approach 50 years of diplomatic relations.

In a Facebook post on Friday, December 12, 2025, Ambassador Choi highlighted the symbolic significance of his appointment and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Ghana’s presence on the global stage.

“As we approach 50 years of Ghana–Korea relations, we step into a new era of genuine partnership and shared destiny. Ghana’s story has always been one of resilience, brilliance, and divine purpose,” he wrote.

Mr. Choi, who presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Korea earlier in the day, said he was beginning his mission with full authority and a deep sense of duty.

“With deep honor, I begin this mission in full authority, dedicated to lifting Ghana’s light even higher on the world stage. God bless our homeland, Ghana, and make our nation Great and Strong,” he added.

Ambassador Choi described the moment as both personal and historic, noting that he was born the same year Ghana and Korea established diplomatic relations, a bond he said has shaped his life and now guides his mandate.
