Kpandai: No bee attack occurred at NDC meeting – Executives

Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpandai Constituency have dismissed reports suggesting that a party campaign meeting was disrupted by a bee attack, describing the claims as false and misleading.

This comes after it was reported on Sunday, December 14, 2025, that one person died following a bee attack on NDC supporters in the Kpandai District after a campaign

The deceased, identified as a chief from one of the communities in the district, was reportedly riding a motorbike when a swarm of bees attacked him. In the ensuing panic, he dismounted and attempted to flee but was beaten to death amid the confusion.

Addressing the media on Monday, December 15, 2025, Gregory Anijadong, Communication Officer, Kpandai Constituency, clarified that although a tragic incident occurred on the same day, it was unrelated to the party’s meeting.

According tohim, an individual — who was not an NDC executive — lost his life in a motor accident reportedly involving bees while returning home after the meeting.

The deceased, the party explained, had earlier attended a separate meeting convened by the overlord of Kpandai, Nana Atorsah Bristiam Okori II, where he was representing his community chief.

Party officials said the individual later came to the vicinity of the NDC meeting venue to wait for the motorbike rider who had transported him to town after his separate engagement.

“The NDC meeting was not disrupted by bees, as has been falsely reported,” the statement stressed.

The party has called on the Ghana Police Service to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and make the findings public to establish the facts.

The NDC further expressed concern over reports that bees are being reared in the area and urged the individual involved, if confirmed, to take necessary safety precautions, especially given the proximity of the location to key public facilities such as the district court, the police commander’s residence, and a major resort in the area.

The party also extended its condolences to the bereaved family.
