The Ministry of Education, with support from the GETFund, has handed over 20 Toyota Land Cruisers to 20 Colleges of Education across the country to enhance monitoring and administrative work by college principals.

The beneficiary institutions include Accra College of Education, Ada College of Education, Akatsi College of Education, Wenchi, Berekum College of Education, among others.

Speaking at the handover ceremony at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) premises on Friday, December 19, the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, said the initiative is aimed at ensuring smooth and efficient administration by heads of colleges of education.

“Ideally, I should have handed over 46 keys this morning, but due to logistical constraints, we are providing twenty vehicles today. Twenty colleges of education will benefit from this initiative this morning,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Board Chair of GTEC, Professor Mahama Duwiejua, expressed appreciation to the Ministry and the GETFund for the support. He urged beneficiary colleges to use the vehicles strictly for their intended purpose to strengthen teaching and learning in their institutions.
