The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has confirmed that the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP) remains fully operational despite a recent breach affecting one of its main gas supply pipelines in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Friday, December 12, 2025, WAPCo assured stakeholders, customers, and the public that gas transportation across the sub-region continues uninterrupted.
The company noted that its teams, in collaboration with partners and key stakeholders, have implemented comprehensive measures to sustain the flow of natural gas through the pipeline network.
“WAPCo remains dedicated to maintaining the reliability and safety of the West African Gas Pipeline. We extend our sincere appreciation to all those who have contributed their expertise, resources, and support during this period,” the statement read.
The company emphasised that the continued operation of WAGP is crucial to meeting the energy needs of the sub-region, supporting economic activities, and ensuring the well-being of communities across West Africa.
WAPCo also pledged to provide timely updates as partners work to restore full supply capacity from all sources, reaffirming the company’s commitment to operational excellence.
