African fashion has taken a bold and eco-conscious turn as iconic textile brand Woodin partners rising sustainable fashion label Cacao to launch a limited-edition ready-to-wear collection that blends heritage, innovation and responsibility.
Dubbed Woodin x Cacao, the collaboration fuses Woodin’s instantly recognisable prints with the contemporary silhouettes by Cacao.
It delivers versatile designs tailored for today’s style-forward generation. The result is a fresh fashion language that speaks to leisure, smart-casual elegance and cultural pride without compromising sustainability.
The Woodin x Cacao collection officially launched on December 12, 2025, and is available at Woodin stores at A&C Mall, Accra Mall and Osu Oxford Street.
The brand collaboration signals Cacao’s commitment to ethical fashion which champions eco-friendly materials, repurposes sewing industry off-cuts and upcycles waste sourced from Ghanaian communities.
It’s more than a fashion drop – the Woodin x Cacao collection positions sustainability as a lifestyle choice and a creative movement.
Founder of Cocoa and creative force, Kwaku Bediako Oduru, says he is on a mission to redefine African fashion for the modern era, proving that bold aesthetics and environmental responsibility can coexist seamlessly.
“Our old clothes get discarded but now it’s a conscious call for us all to get them back, save them and re-create all of them not only into clothings but accessories. I want to say the future of this collaboration wll look at other areas to consistently reimagine how clothes will be used”, he said.
Though barely a year old, Cacao has already gained global recognition becoming the first African fashion brand licensed by the NBA for the Basketball Africa League and earning features on the BBC World Service flagship podcast.
The Woodin partnership marks a significant achievement in the brand’s fast-rising journey.
The collection caters to young men and women unafraid to make a statement, featuring standout pieces crafted from signature Woodin fabrics, including the striking Bogolan print.
Georgina Mensah, Head of Marketing at TexStyles Ghana Ltd, owners of the Woodin brand, said the collaboration is a deliberate step toward promoting sustainable fashion by combining Woodin’s textile excellence with Cacao’s cutting-edge design approach.
“This partnership is actually to promote sustainable fashion and attract eco-conscious customers who are also young and trendy. We will roll out more collections after this but will be limited editions which you can wear anywhere for any occasion. The plan is to extend this collaboration and have these pieces in our Francophone shops as well”, she told the media.
Woodin and Cacao are joining forces to reshape African print fashion, engage a youthful audience and expand the boundaries of style with purpose.
