The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a period of illness.

A fourth-term MP, Toure held several key roles in Parliament, including Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee, and member of the Roads and Transport Committee, House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.

Following his passing, the body of the late MP has been taken to his residence at Spintex, where the family is currently holding a meeting to finalise arrangements for the burial and funeral rites in accordance with Muslim customs and traditions.

Meanwhile, scores of mourners have gathered at the residence to offer condolences, paying tribute to the late lawmaker’s contributions to his constituency and the nation.

The janazah prayers for Toure are scheduled to be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., after which the body will be laid to rest.
