A violent clash between youth from Ekumfi Eyisam and Mankesim Edumadze has left several people with varying degrees of injuries.
The confrontation reportedly started after an altercation between two individuals from the respective communities during a beach rave in Saltpond. Tensions escalated on Saturday night when a member of the Eyisam community was brutally assaulted, triggering violence.
Youth from the Eyisam community reportedly mobilised and stormed the Edumadze community, sparking chaotic scenes.
Gunshots were fired during the incident, leaving one person injured and currently receiving treatment at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
Another individual, whose whereabouts remain unknown, is reported to have suffered injuries from an acid attack.
Police and other local authorities have yet to comment on the situation.
However, reports indicate that the communities have now returned to a relatively calm state.
