The European Union is working with three universities in Ghana to address education-related challenges linked to water, energy, and food systems.
‎
‎The project involves the University of Ghana, the University of Energy and Natural Resources, and the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, and focuses on improving study programmes by introducing digital teaching tools, sustainability modules, and green solutions into selected courses.
‎
‎Speaking at the closure of the project at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI),  on Monday, January 19, Dr John Eleblu, Director of the Biotechnology Centre at the University of Ghana, said the project has provided lecturers with additional tools to improve teaching and learning.

“With the tools we now have, lecturers can pre-record lectures, take their time to explain concepts in detail for students, and also engage them during class. It is an added resource available to lecturers.”

Dr Eleblu further noted that the project has strengthened their capacity to address climate change and sustainability issues in both teaching and research.

“It is making us more capable of taking on climate change issues.”
