The Ketu North Municipal Assembly is set to kick off 2026 with the commencement of four major infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening health care delivery and improving access to quality education across the municipality.
The projects, scheduled for sod-cutting on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, include the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Adzoatsi, a Kindergarten block at the Dzodze Fiagbedu Roman Catholic School, a six-unit classroom block at the Tadzewu Law Memorial Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Basic School, and another CHPS compound at Wuti-Kutsinu.
These initiatives form part of the Assembly’s broader development agenda to address critical infrastructure gaps in underserved communities, particularly in the health and education sectors.
“The CHPS compounds will bring primary health care services closer to residents, reduce travel time to health facilities, and improve maternal and child health outcomes,” the Assembly noted.
“The new classroom and kindergarten blocks will ease congestion, enhance teaching and learning, and provide a more conducive environment for pupils and teachers.”
Earlier in October, during the Member of Parliament’s Quarterly Accountability Series held at Penyi, Municipal Chief Executive Rev. Martin Amenaki announced the projects and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to prioritising investments that directly impact residents’ welfare and contribute to long-term socio-economic development.
Rev. Amenaki highlighted that the projects reflect the collective efforts of the Assembly, traditional authorities, and development partners to respond to community needs in health and education.
The sod-cutting ceremony is expected to attract several dignitaries, including Eric Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North; James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister; traditional leaders; heads of departments; and other stakeholders.
The Assembly expressed optimism that the timely completion of these projects would significantly improve service delivery and enhance the quality of life for residents of Ketu North Municipality.
