Provisional road traffic data for December 2025 shows that private vehicles accounted for the largest share of vehicles involved in road traffic crashes, followed by commercial vehicles and motorcycles.

Out of a total of 2,406 vehicles involved in crashes during the month, private vehicles recorded 1,003 cases, representing about 42 percent of all vehicles involved.

This marks a notable increase compared to December 2024, when 727 private vehicles were involved in crashes, reflecting a rise of about 38 percent.

Commercial vehicles were the second most involved category in December 2025. A total of 743 commercial vehicles were involved in crashes, accounting for nearly 31 percent of all vehicles involved. This compares to 593 commercial vehicles recorded in December 2024, representing an increase of about 25 percent.

Motorcycles also recorded a significant presence in crash involvement. In December 2025, 660 motorcycles were involved in crashes, making up about 27 percent of the total. This is an increase from the 488 motorcycles recorded in December 2024, representing a rise of 33 percent.

Overall, vehicle involvement in road traffic crashes rose sharply in December 2025, increasing from 1,808 vehicles in December 2024 to 2,406 vehicles. The provisional figures highlight growing concerns about road safety across all vehicle categories, with private vehicles contributing the largest share to crash statistics during the month.
