International relations expert and former Director of the Legon Centre for International Affairs, Professor Vladimir Antwi Danso, has backed Ghana’s condemnation of the forceful removal of Venezuelan leader, Nicolas Maduro by the United States government.
The Government of Ghana has strongly condemned what it calls a unilateral and unauthorised military invasion of Venezuela by the United States, an action which led to the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
The development has attracted widespread criticism from various quarters of the international community.
In an interview with Citi News, Prof. Antwi Danso commended Ghana for what he described as a bold and principled stance on the issue.
“Because we have been able to state that, we are saying, revert to the status quo, release the man and the wife. I don’t think Ghana has done any wrong, nor should we be afraid that we have done anything wrong.
“There are other people who want to politicise this; it is wrong. I doff my heart for the Ministry,” he said.
Prof. Antwi Danso further called on world leaders to adopt a tougher and more coordinated response to the situation
