Vice President of Ghana, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has called for greater unity among African countries to strengthen integration while driving shared prosperity and economic growth across the continent.

Speaking at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues on Wednesday, February 4, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged governments across the board to develop long-term and medium-term policies, build strong development finance institutions, and implement regional projects that reflect the scale of collective continental ambitions.

According to her, a unified Africa would enable entrepreneurs and manufacturers to view the continent not as a series of fragmented markets, but as one connected economy with vast opportunities.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged African policymakers and business leaders to prioritise initiatives that strengthen cross-border collaboration and regional economic integration.

“We must continue to integrate our borders. Africa must unite. This is not about erasing sovereignty; it is about organising our sovereignty in service of shared prosperity and our market,” Ghana’s Vice President explained.
