Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his “economic discipline,” following the President’s delivery of the 2026 State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Friday, February 27.
Speaking on Citi FM’s The Big Issue on Saturday, February 28, Cudjoe also lauded Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson for exercising restraint in steering fiscal policy.
He contrasted the current administration’s appointments with those of the previous government, criticising what he described as the “incompetent men” appointed under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, whose cabinet he said had “driven this country into junk status.”
“I totally enjoyed the proceedings,” Cudjoe said, noting that President Mahama devoted significant time to outlining the nation’s economic indicators, which he described as now “transparent and measurable.”
“Where we came from, what I describe as Nana’s health kitchen, there was a lot of smoke and the food was definitely giving kidney and liver diseases. It was not a good place. But now, we see noticeable impact. Leadership matters, and it must be acknowledged,” he added.
