The much-anticipated Heritage Caravan 2026, organised by Channel One TV and Citi FM, has set off today, marking the start of what promises to be the road trip of a lifetime.

With more than 200 enthusiastic participants on board, the Heritage Caravan, the biggest road trip and a cultural expedition promises eight days of discovery across 14 regions of Ghana.
From the early hours of the morning, the departure point in Accra was a lively scene. Caravanites arrived dragging suitcases; some modest, others packed to the brim creating a colourful mosaic of personalities and expectations.

A few participants balanced three or four bags, perhaps signalling a well-prepared fashion statement for every stop along the way. Laughter blended with greetings as strangers quickly became travel companions, united by a shared curiosity about Ghana’s heritage.
Before the convoy set off, sponsors gave participants a warm and generous send-off. Each caravanite received branded souvenirs, including customised T-shirts and a range of products from supporting brands — practical tokens designed to make the journey more comfortable while underscoring the strong spirit of partnership behind the tour.

Adding a distinctly Ghanaian touch to the morning was a hearty breakfast served as early as 7:00 a.m. Waakye, kenkey and other local delicacies were laid out in abundance, symbolising the rich culinary heritage that the Caravan itself seeks to celebrate. It was more than a meal; it was a cultural statement a reminder that the journey ahead is as much about taste and tradition as it is about travel.
Now in its 10th year, the Heritage Caravan has evolved into one of Ghana’s most anticipated tourism experiences. Over the next eight days, participants will journey from Accra through historic towns, cultural landmarks and scenic destinations spanning 14 regions. The initiative continues to promote domestic tourism while deepening appreciation for Ghana’s diverse traditions, histories and landscapes.

This year’s itinerary blends culture with entertainment. At Maaha Beach Resort, caravanites will enjoy live performances from the Nyinkyim Band and DJ Mingle, turning the serene coastline into a vibrant celebration of music and community. Culinary exhibitions along the route will further showcase the distinctive flavours that define Ghana’s regional identities.
The Caravan’s success is buoyed by strong corporate backing. Key partners include GOIL and Multi Pro Company, introducing products such as Mini Me Atsomo and Add Me Groundnut Paste alongside existing supporters like OmniBisc, Didi Shito, Gino Tomato Paste, Nana Rice, Hollard Insurance and Caveman Watches.

Through the initiative, Peeva Beverages is also offering participants an exclusive first taste of its latest product, blending cultural celebration with strategic brand engagement.
As the buses finally pulled away, cheers erupted and cameras flashed. What began with a chant ended with a convoy not just of vehicles, but of shared purpose. For the next eight days, the Heritage Caravan will not merely travel across Ghana; it will trace the heartbeat of a nation, one region at a time.
