The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, has officially cut the sod for a 5.2km road construction project in the Narmah community, a move aimed at improving connectivity and boosting development within the constituency.
Speaking to Channel One News during a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of roads in the Narmah community in the Ga East Municipality on Friday, March 6, 2026, the MP said the project is part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance road networks across the country.
“This is more than a sod-cutting for a project; it is something that will improve connectivity within the constituency. This is a 5.2km road, and it is supposed to last for 18 months.
“We are hopeful that it will be completed earlier. We will also be doing a lot of inner roads as well. So, soon Dome Kwabenya will become like a construction zone, because of the roads being constructed,” she said.
The MP emphasized that the project is expected to significantly improve local transportation and stimulate development within the constituency.
