Accra-based designer Belle Yemofio has earned international acclaim after winning a prestigious design award in Milan, Italy and securing a nomination for the Africa Golden Awards, further cementing Ghana’s growing presence in global interior architecture.

Yemofio, Founder and Creative Director of EllenDavis Interior Design, won the Professional Award – Residential Space (Innovation Award Category) at the Italy International Design Award held in Milan, widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential design capitals.

Simultaneously, she has been nominated for African Interior Designer of the Year at the Africa Golden Awards, placing her among a rising generation of African creatives gaining recognition for innovative work.

The international accolade was awarded for her standout residential project, “The Curve Residence Project,” celebrated for its bold architectural expression, fluid spatial planning, and contemporary elegance. Judges highlighted its innovative approach, featuring sweeping curves, seamless transitions between living spaces, and a design philosophy that combines visual sophistication with practical functionality.

“This recognition is deeply meaningful for me and for my team at EllenDavis Interior Design. It represents how African creativity and design thinking are increasingly shaping global conversations about space, beauty, and functionality,” Yemofio said.

The Africa Golden Awards nomination reinforces her growing influence across the continent’s creative industry, which celebrates individuals and organisations contributing to Africa’s advancement in arts, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and humanitarian leadership.

Over the past several years, EllenDavis Interior Design has built a reputation for delivering refined residential and commercial interiors that balance modern aesthetics, cultural nuance, and functional elegance.

Founded six years ago in Accra, the studio has developed a diverse portfolio of projects, emerging as one of the rising voices shaping contemporary interior design in Africa.
