President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to uphold integrity and reject wealth acquired through dishonest means as the country works to reset its national values.
According to him, rebuilding the nation requires a change in attitudes and expectations among both leaders and citizens.
In an Independence Day message to Ghanaians in the diaspora on March 6, 2026, the President said restoring integrity and accountability must be central to Ghana’s development efforts.
“Resetting Ghana is about resetting values, resetting expectations, and resetting the very relationship between leaders and the led,” he said.
The President also emphasised the need to instil strong moral values in the younger generation in order to safeguard the country’s future.
“We must teach our children that integrity is non-negotiable; that wealth acquired through dubious means is a curse and not a blessing, and that true success is measured not by what we accumulate, but what we contribute to national progress,” he said.
