One person has died following a road traffic accident involving a Toyota Voxy and a parked MAN Diesel truck at Teacher Mantey on the Accra–Kumasi Highway on Saturday, March 7.

According to a Facebook post by the Ghana National Fire Service on Sunday, March 8, a six-member rescue team from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, led by ADOII Ocansey Bright, arrived at the scene to find the Toyota Voxy badly crashed into the stationary truck.

Firefighters conducted a rescue operation and retrieved the body of a male occupant who had been trapped inside the severely damaged vehicle.
The deceased was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation and preservation.

According to eyewitness accounts, the Toyota Voxy was allegedly travelling at high speed when it rammed into the parked MAN Diesel truck along the highway.

“After completing the rescue operation, personnel from the fire service cleared the scene to restore normal traffic flow before returning safely to base”, the post said.
