The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has honoured a host of distinguished personalities at the World-Meets-in-Ghana Executive Gala held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The high-profile event brought together leading figures from the political, traditional, religious, and business sectors to celebrate the Asantehene’s enduring role as a pillar of peace and development.

Among those honoured were President John Dramani Mahama, the Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

Also recognised were Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, renowned business leader Sir Sam Jonah, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Johnson Asiama, the Chief Justice of Ghana, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Group CEO of KGL, alongside other prominent business personalities.

The honourees were celebrated for their contributions to peacebuilding, national development, and strengthening institutional and economic growth.

The Executive Gala, organised by the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President in partnership with E ON 3 Group, forms part of activities marking the 27th anniversary of the enstoolment of the Asantehene.

Held under the theme “Advancing Peace and Sustainable Economic Development Through Royal Vision,” the event served as a platform to highlight the Asantehene’s legacy in promoting unity, conflict resolution, and socio-economic progress.

The ceremony, which took place at the Jubilee Hall within the Manhyia Palace, drew participation from members of the international community and key stakeholders across various sectors.

As Special Guest of Honour, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, joined dignitaries in celebrating the Asantehene’s influence, which continues to resonate both within Ghana and beyond.

Over the years, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has earned widespread recognition for his leadership, widely regarded as a stabilising force that has contributed significantly to national cohesion and development across Ghana and the African continent.

The gala reaffirmed his status as a global symbol of peace, while also acknowledging individuals and institutions whose efforts align with his vision for a stable and prosperous society.
