The Ghana Education Service (GES) has opened applications for the recruitment of new teachers, inviting qualified graduates to apply for positions across the country.
In a vacancy notice dated April 10, 2026, the Service said it is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals with a Bachelor of Education degree or related qualifications to join its workforce.
According to the statement, successful applicants will be expected to deliver teaching using modern, technology-driven methods, support learners with diverse educational needs, and help students develop strong research skills using digital tools.
Teachers will also be required to assess student performance using a variety of methods while adhering to national professional and ethical standards.
The Service emphasised that applicants must demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development to stay updated with evolving teaching practices.
To qualify, applicants must hold a degree in education or a relevant degree with a postgraduate diploma or certificate in education. They must have completed their National Service, possess a valid teaching licence from the National Teaching Council, and show strong communication and classroom management skills. Applicants must also be willing to accept postings to underserved or deprived districts.
Interested candidates are required to apply through the official recruitment portal, complete an online application form, and upload necessary documents, including academic certificates, National Service certificate, teaching licence, Ghana Card, and a passport-sized photograph.
The application window is open from April 10 to April 17, 2026.
The Ghana Education Service says the recruitment forms part of efforts to strengthen the country’s education system by improving teaching quality and expanding access to education nationwide.
