The Ministry of Health has announced plans to begin a nationwide recruitment of health professionals from April 16, 2026, following the approval of financial clearance to support the exercise.

In a press release issued on April 2, the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Tony Goodman, stated that the recruitment will be conducted across the country at the district level, based on verified staffing gaps within health facilities.

According to the Ministry, the process will be decentralised, competitive, and transparent, with selections guided by an approved quota system covering all professional categories and year groups. It added that all recruitment will be carried out within approved budgetary limits.

Qualified health professionals have been advised to monitor official Ministry of Health and district health administration platforms for detailed vacancy announcements and application procedures.

Prospective applicants are also encouraged to prepare all required documentation and credentials ahead of the rollout.

The Ministry noted that the financial clearance for the recruitment exercise is valid until December 31, 2026, and all hiring processes must be completed within this period.

It further urged eligible professionals to take advantage of the opportunity to support efforts aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery across the country.
