Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader, has dispelled the common misconception that politics is solely about aggression and opponents being at war with each other.
He emphasized that politicians are individuals who work towards shared objectives, through different methods.
In an interview with Bernard Avle on the Point of View on Citi TV on Monday, the Majority Leader passionately stated that no serious politician would engage in a fight with their opponent.
He therefore advised party foot soldiers to refrain from fighting each other.
“Let me repeat this to our foot soldiers, no serious politician in that chamber would want to fight the opposite politician so don’t think that you must fight your brother,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, anticipates a productive collaboration with the Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson, in parliament.
He expressed that he shares a strong rapport with Mr Forson.
He clarified that despite their political differences, they have managed to maintain their relationship.
