The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress’ Council of Elders in South Africa, Mr. Benjamin Kofi Quashie, has opined that the appointment of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as former President John Mahama’s running mate intimidates the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He noted that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is without blemish and a good complement to the former President.
Speaking on Accra FM’s “The Citizen Show” on Saturday, the SA NDC Council of Elders Chair recounted that, following the woman’s trajectory, she was a formidable personality for a running mate.
“Prof. is a good person and would bring in a lot of development to the country as a vice president who comes in with a lot of competence. This is the reason why she intimidates the NPP. When somebody intimidates them, they would run around and dig the person and raise all manner of accusations against the person,” stated Mr. Quashie.
He argued that from the inception of her nomination and the subsequent outdooring to the general Ghanaian electorates, “nobody in the NPP can pinpoint one thing to conclude that there is a blemish on the woman. They have nothing to say about her.”
Touching on her outdooring speech, he said never in the history of the 4th republic has anyone delivered a speech with such a fearless and passionate appeal to the conscience of Ghanaians, and that made him proud as her daughter had someone to look up to.
