The Ghana Christian International High School (GCIHS) on Saturday, June 22, held its 2024 Graduation ceremony for Cambridge ‘A’ level students.
The ceremony themed, ‘Beyond GCIHS: Opportunities and Challenges” witnessed the graduation of fifty-seven students of the Cambridge A level, year 13 Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) batch.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Principal of GCIHS, Vivian Bawuah commended the students for being the batch to have garnered the most academic awards and recognitions.
“This is the year group with the most academic awards and recognitions from the British Council of Ghana, where the Council recognized two students from the group as star performers for their 2022 Ordinary Level examinations.”
Vivian Bawuah also expressed admiration for the graduates for their performances which had earned the institution twenty-three recognitions from the British Council Partner Schools Awards, for the 2023 Cambridge Ordinary Level Examinations and six recognitions for the 2023 Cambridge Advanced level exams.
Speaking to Channel One News on the sidelines of the ceremony, the Chairman of the board of trustees, Lawyer Sam Okudzeto, counselled the young students to desist from indulging in deviant acts that have the potential of jeopardizing their future.
“Over the years, the generation of students we have produced, all of them are standing high wherever they are. And so this is a charge to them and also to be aware of the dangers as we live in this world now. There are so many dangers around now. Cybercrime, where people are saying do this and you have so much money, you get carried away and yet they are just criminal gangs. Tomorrow if you are not careful you can find yourself in jail.” He stated.
He further charged the youth to be excellent in their respective fields and build a good reputation for themselves.
The Chief Operations Officer for GCIHS, Dr. Joseph Mensah-Ansah also implored the graduates to emulate and rely on Christ, in their future pursuits and welcomed the support of stakeholders for the championing of the course of GCHIS.
“Depend on Christ and everything will be well for you. The world is big but we cannot leave Christ out in every decision they take as they go out into the world, they should look up to Christ. He is the author and finisher of everything they want to do”
“Fortunately this school is an NGO, it is solely an NGO. Everybody who is prepared to come and support the job of God is ever welcome to provide support.” Dr. Joseph Mensah-Ansah added.
