A recent poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed a surprising trend, with the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) voters showing a preference for John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming election.
According to the June Opinion Poll, Mahama garnered 43.3% of votes among unweighted voters, while Dr Mahamudu Bawumia secured 35.7%.
The weighted voters’ results showed an even larger margin, with Mahama receiving 48.6% of the votes and Bawumia getting 36.6%.
Mussa Dankwa, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, discussing the findings on Channel One TV’s ‘Cituation Room, explained that the trend suggests a significant improvement for Mahama’s candidacy.
He noted that the poll was conducted after Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour, which had initially boosted his numbers.
However, the poll reveals that more NPP voters are supporting Mahama than NDC voters supporting Dr. Bawumia.
He stated, “There are more people in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) voting for John Dramani Mahama than members of the National Democratic Congress voting for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.”
