The Judicial Service of Ghana (JUSAG) and the Government and Hospital Pharmacies Association (GHOSPA) have instructed their members to resume work on July 16, 2024, following the suspension of the strike by Organised Labour.
Organised Labour had declared its intention to strike on Monday, July 15, 2024, but called off the strike after the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) terminated the processes for the sale of its 60% shares in four hotels.
Instead, they directed their members to resume work and demanded proper engagement with the government.
In separate statements issued on Monday, July 15, 2024, JUSAG and Government and Hospital Pharmacies Association (GHOSPA) have directed all workers to report to work on Tuesday, July 16, 2024
“Having had our demands met by the Board of SSNIT, Organised Labour decided to call off the ongoing strike. ALL workers are, therefore, directed to report to work tomorrow, Tuesday, 16th July 2024. Consequently, the National Executive Council (NEC) of JUSAG wish to inform all staff of the Judicial Service to resume work tomorrow,” JUSAG said.
The Government and Hospital Pharmacies Association (GHOSPA) has announced that the general public can expect full pharmaceutical care services to resume from July 16, 2024.
GOSPA also said, “The leadership of GHOSPA thus calls on all Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to resume work. The general public should expect full pharmaceutical care provision from tomorrow the 16th of July 2024.
“We expect SSNIT to adhere to their declaration. We similarly call on the government to expeditiously address all the concerns espoused by Organised Labour.”
