The management of transport company, VIP Jeoun Transport Company, says it will take legal action against bus operators who have branded their buses with their trademark – red colour and VIP inscription.
The company has been criticized recently for some accidents allegedly involving buses which had VIP inscriptions and colours.
But according to the company, most of those buses don’t belong to them, although they have the VIP inscriptions.
[contextly_sidebar id=”ceBuQbDrm2ptENFMvrwZ0WvCfcbUfLAL”]Addressing journalists today [Thursday], the General Manager for VIP Jeoun Transport Company, Adakabre Frimpong Manso, warned bus operators using the VIP inscription without authorisation to erase it with urgency to avoid any legal action.
“In respect of the spate of accidents on our highways and the perception that VIP accounts for a high number of accidents on our highways, we want to state emphatically that other bus operators are casing off on the brand VIP.”
“Notice is hereby served of our intention to go to court; and as we registered this company, we also registered the mark VIP and the colour. It has come to the operators that our brand is being diluted. Our brand is being attacked, our brand is being assaulted, and we consequently want to go to the law court and have a judgment against anybody who from today refuses to erase the inscription VIP from their buses,” he added.
