The Korle Bu Teaching hospital will soon get a new governing board to oversee the affairs of the hospital.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hospital, said this has become necessary due to the hospital’s aim of ensuring the maintenance of international standards at the facility.
Speaking at the sod cutting of a pediatric intensive care unit by the Rebecca Akufo Addo Foundation, Dr Felix Anyah said new software would also be installed to tackle the revenue processes and other issues confronting the hospital.
“Korle Bu needs more projects of this kind to deliver quality healthcare. We equally need the right policies that will facilitate the changing of attitudes and provide the appropriate organisational culture towards meeting this international benchmarks.”
“Modernization of operations by the use of end to end software to address issues that have bedevilled Korle Bu. Revenue generation processes and all other areas of operations that are key in the strategic development of Korle Bu. We are optimistic about having the governing board soon to lead the process of shaping the right policies towards achieving targeted milestones,” he added.
The Korle Bu Hospital has been facing major challenges for some time now, including the lack of health personnel and resources.
These challenges are however expected to be tackled with the setting up of a governing council.
