The Upper East National Democratic Congress Caucus in Parliament has expressed its readiness to work assiduously with the newly elected regional executives of the party to capture all the 15 parliamentary seats in the region.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of the caucus, Edward Bawa, the NDC urged the executives to work closely with the rank and file of the party for victory in 2020.
” With a fresh mandate, the unity of purpose and a thoroughgoing process of introspection and reflection, the new executive body has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the growth of the party and assisting the party to regain lost grounds in the Region. It is our fervent hope that the new leadership will be gracious enough to quickly reach out to all persons who contested and bring them on board for the task of presenting a viable alternative to the current clueless NPP government.”
” We hope that the executive body has further committed itself to strengthen the NDC in the region as a tool in the hands of the people to fight the challenges of poverty, unemployment, and inequality”.
He added that the Caucus looks forward to engaging the newly elected regional leadership with the aim of ensuring that the party captures the fifteen parliamentary seats while increasing the presidential votes for the yet to be elected flagbearer when the country goes to the polls in 2020.
The Caucus congratulated the new leaders and reiterated that there were no losers in the elections.
“Members of the NDC remain the custodians and embodiment of the values, cultures, traditions, and ethics of our great party thus the peaceful manner in which the conference was organized, reaffirmed their stature and correctness of the reverence with which they are held by the Party and the society at large.”
He further congratulated delegates and the rank and file of the National Democratic Congress in the Upper East Region for a successful Regional conference of the party held on September 1, 2018, at the Bolgatanga Polytechnic.
