Peak Lyceum, an international school in Tema Community 22, climaxed the celebration of their 10th anniversary with a speech and prize giving ceremony.
The school lined up a number of events leading up to the climax including an orphanage project, a health walk and an aerobics and health screening session.
The event saw stakeholders including teachers and pupils walk away with awards and certificates on the day. The event began with a thanksgiving service and transited into the Speech and Prize Giving ceremony.
Manuella Adabla, Cedina Laryea and Nana Amma Ansah, won the overall best pupils for grades 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
Some pupils were as well given special recognition for extra-curriculum work in Coding, Music and Swimming lessons.
The theme for the event was “A Decade of Excellent Education, Prospects of The Future’’.
In a brief address, the Director of the school, Mr. Kofi Ansah, said that the school is poised for more excellence as it prepares her first batch of pupils to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination in the 2021/2022 academic year.
He continued to add that just as the school begun from crèche in 2008, and has grown organically thereafter, it will grow gradually into becoming a university in 2028, when the school marks her 20th anniversary.
Guest Speaker, Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, said he was sure that pupils, who exit the corridors of Peak Lyceum would be adequately prepared to become citizens who would impact their societies positively, and live the vision of Peak Lyceum; hence, the transformational leaders the world seeks.
In her closing remark, the chairperson for the occasion, Mrs. Yvonne Nagai, a private legal practitioner and the Chairperson of the school’s board, advised teachers to give off their best to the children they teach “as life has a way of returning the good we do to and for others”.
She also shared with the pupils that one of her secrets to success has been reading, and therefore encouraged them to take reading seriously if they want to become successful in life.
