The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Francisca Oteng Mensah has pledged her continuous support for schools within the area.
According to her, the surest way to improving the quality of education is to provide the needed logistics to the schools to aid effective teaching and learning.
The Kwabre East MP said this a ceremony where she donated 15 desktop computers, 5,150 mathematical sets and 16000 exercise books to ten selected basic schools within her constituency.
“It is rather unfortunate that some of the kids will find themselves in a school which does not have the needed materials, but then it is not their fault. So we in authority, the leadership we should all come together and support the Government. It is not everything that the Government can do. So I thought it necessary as an MP for this area to also go round, assess the needs of the people and see how best I can help resolve most of the issue”, she said.
She indicated that although she will not be able to address all the challenges facing the education sector in the municipality, she believes the current efforts being made will go a long way to help in addressing most of the problems.
The Municipal Director of Education in the Kwabre East Municipality, Mrs. Stella Ofori-Atta commended the MP for the gesture and appealed for the provision of desks for schools in the area.
Teachers and pupils of the beneficiary schools also commended the MP for the donation.

The MP at a meeting with some her constituents in Mamponteng enumerated efforts the Akufo-Addo administration was doing to address the numerous challenges facing the constituency.
She said the Government working very hard to improve the road network within the area since the area has grappled with poor roads for a long time.
She indicated that efforts are also being made to complete a market project at Mamponteng which has stalled due to lack of funds. She proceeded to Mamponteng-Ankaimu to commission a mechanized borehole to provide potable water for residents in the area.
The project was the third mechanized borehole to be commissioned within the constituency after two were completed and handed over to the Ahodwo and Adeisina communities.
