The High Court in Tamale will today, Monday preside over a contempt case filed against the Chief Executive of the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly, Marriam Iddrisu and the New Patriotic Party Northern Regional chairman, Mr. Mohammed Bantima Samba.
The two were brought before the court by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice after residents petitioned the commission and relevant departments to stop the construction of a fuel station owned by the NPP regional chairman in a residential area within the Sagnarigu municipality.
Sources at the Tamale high court say although the MCE has been appearing in court, they have not been able to reach the chairman to serve him the notice.
All measures to stop the chairman from advancing the construction allegedly proved futile.
According to Citi News checks, the fuel station in contention has already started serving customers despite the numerous petitions.
