The spokesperson for families of the three missing Takoradi girls, Michael Grant Hayford has called for the arrest of a former District Commander for Takoradi, Peter Ofori Donkor and a CID officer known as Ametepe to aid in investigations.
According to him, the District Commander, Ofori Donkor promised to bring the girls back to the family before his transfer from Takoradi.
“Why we are asking for arrest is that the district commander gave an assurance to the family that at all cost the police will arrest John but when he (John) travelled from Nigeria to Ghana he wasn’t arrested but rather the suspect managed to escape from the police custody.”
At a press conference, Mr. Grant Hayford questioned the rationale behind the transfer of the two personnel who have more knowledge about the case.
Mr. Hayford is, therefore, calling for the arrest of the district commander and the CID.
“We believe that as District Commander he did a good job by helping the suspect to escape from the central police station and he needs to be brought to book.”
The story of the three kidnapped girls has become a national issue and has gained wide publicity.
