The Member of Parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is confident of securing an overwhelming victory in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ongoing parliamentary primary.
Voting is currently ongoing in the NPP primaries across the country.
“The process is very simple; the protocols are being observed and I think that at the end of the day we will have victory. So far, I think that the message has sunk well with my people and they are going to give me a resounding victory,” she said to Citi News.
The atmosphere in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, which is considered as one of the hotspots in the NPP primaries, is charged.
Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, Mike Oquaye Jnr, is for the second time, coming face to face with the incumbent, Adwoa Safo, who is the Deputy Majority Leader and Minister of State in charge of Procurement.
Some persons who have tipped Mr. Oquaye to annex the slot as some delegates have accused the Deputy Majority Leader of not being accessible.
But the incumbent rubbished allegations describing them as “cheap propaganda”.
“I only believe that it is just cheap propaganda I have been with my people; I dedicated two days in every week so that they would come to my house and tell me what their problems are and I always try to help. Whoever was not in the country can say anything but my people who have been here with me know that every Christmas, Easter and Eid-Ul Fitr I am with them.”
About 1,175 delegates are expected to vote in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency from 10 electoral areas.
