The spokesperson for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Gideon Boako, spearheaded an impressive campaign in the Tano North Constituency, culminating in a remarkable landslide victory for Dr Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer contest.
The Vice President secured 552 out of 666 total valid votes cast, representing a commanding 82.9% of the votes.
His closest rival, Kennedy Agyapong, garnered 112 votes, representing 16.6%. Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto received 2 votes (0.003%), while Francis Addai-Nimo secured a single vote (0.002%).
Following the announcement, jubilant supporters and delegates hailed Dr Boako and hoisted him on their shoulders in appreciation for his unwavering dedication to ensuring Dr Bawumia’s victory. An elated Dr. Boako joined in the celebration, singing and dancing with joy.
In the November 4 National Delegates Conference, the New Patriotic Party officially elected Dr Bawumia as the presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.
After a Super Delegates Conference narrowed down the aspirants to four, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerged victorious with a resounding 61.43% of the total valid votes cast.
Assin Central MP, Ken Agyapong, secured second place with a respectable 37.41% of the votes. Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto came in third with 0.76%, while Francis Addai Nimoh claimed the fourth position with 0.41% of the votes.
Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, which included Dr Gideon Boako, Sammi Awuku, and many others, received widespread praise for their excellent execution of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign strategy.
