The management of Citi FM and Citi TV has donated relief items worth thousands of cedis to flood victims in the Afadjato South and North Dayi constituencies of the Volta Region.
The donation was made in response to appeals from the Members of Parliament (MPs) for the two constituencies, Angela Oforiwa Alorwu-Tay and Joycelyn Tetteh, respectively.
The items, which were presented to the MPs at the premises of Citi FM on Friday, November 10, 2023, included foodstuffs, mattresses, mosquito nets, torchlights, water treatment tablets, roofing sheets, and cement.
The Managing Director of Citi TV/Citi FM, Samuel Attah Mensah, said the donation was part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support communities affected by the Akosombo Dam Spillage.
Receiving the items, the MPs expressed their gratitude to Citi FM/Citi TV for the gesture. They said the items would go a long way in helping the affected communities to recover from the floods.
Mrs. Alorwu-Tay said most farms in her constituency had been destroyed, adding that food was really going to be scarce in the coming months.
She, therefore, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Citi FM and Citi TV for the gesture and prayed for God’s blessings over all and sundry who supported.
Mrs. Tettey said six out of nine communities in her constituency had been affected and that the donation would go a long way to assist them.
She also thanked Citi FM and Citi TV for the presentation and called on other well-meaning organizations and individuals to come to their aid.
