The Member of Parliament for Krachi Nchumuru constituency in the Volta Region, John Majisi has donated 260 dual desks to the District Education Directorate to be distributed among schools in the area.
The donation, according to him, forms part of his efforts towards promoting quality education in the constituency.
The intervention follows a call on him by some head of basic schools in the district about infrastructural challenges in the various basic schools in the Nchumuru district.
In a brief address, he advised the authorities to make good use of the desks in order to keep in classrooms children who skip school to avoid sitting on floors and benches.
He assured the GES of his commitment to providing teaching and learning materials and motivational package for teachers.
The MP pleaded with the GES to ensure that the furniture is maintained.
In the past years, he had donated over 700 dual desks, 50 desktop computers, and other teaching and learning materials to promote education in the district.
Krachi Ntumuru is one of the largest districts in the Volta region, having many Islamic and English basic Schools in the area, however, infrastructure remains a major challenge.
