The Basare community in Ghana led by the paramount Chief of Tatale, Oboru Gariba Yankoso II, paid a courtesy call on the Overload of Dagbon Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama at the Gbewaa palace in Yendi.
The visit by the Basares was to congratulate the Yaa Naa on his successful enskinment and also to thank the people of Dagbon for the peace in the area.
They also pledged their support for the people of Dagbon.
Oboru Gariba Yankoso II said to Citi News “we have come here this morning to pay homage to the Overload of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Mahama Abubakari on his successful enskinment. We Basares have pledged our support for him and also thank the people of Dagbon for sustaining the peace”.
The National president of the Basares, Alhaji Imoro Seini expressed their happiness over the peace in the area.
The delegation consisted of about 40 chiefs and queenmothers from across the country.
“It’s a moment of joy and as neighbours and the Overload in the region we come to show our solidarity with him and pledge to continue to peacefully coexist with him.”
The Basare ethnic group come from Tatale Sanguli district of the Northern region with the majority of them living in other parts of the country.
