The Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested three more persons in connection with the murder of the Asantehene’s Asamponhene, Nana Kwadwo Afodjour.
The Police have also declared one Sadat Mohammed popularly known as Alhaji as a wanted person.
Speaking at a press conference at the Ashanti Regional Police Command, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP David Agyemang Adjem, said the police have secured an arrest warrant, and called on Ghanaians to volunteer information about the whereabouts of Sadat Mohammed.
“As you aware, Otumfuo’s Asampohene, Nana Kwadwo Afodjour, 46 years old was murdered on Sunday, 18th August, 2019. So far, our investigations tell us that he was in the company of one Sadat Mohammed who is 33 years old and popularly known as Alhaji. Again, we have information that they had traveled together on that same day so we are making efforts to locate this person but to no avail. The Command has secured an arrest warrant for this person so we declare him a wanted person.”
Three persons were earlier arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Nana Kwadwo Afordour.
The Police say the deceased, who is 46 was murdered somewhere and his body deposited at the backseat of his Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle and abandoned at the outskirts of the village.
The incident happened on Sunday, August 18, 2019 near Ebuom village on the Ejura – Nkoranza Highway.
Meanwhile four persons have also been arrested in connection with the killing of a police officer at Manso Nkwanta.
According to the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP David Agyemang Adjem, investigations are ongoing to arrest other suspects.
