The Chief Executive Officer of Citi TV/Citi FM, Samuel Attah-Mensah will today be making an appearance at this year’s Social Media Week event in Accra.
Participants at this year’s event will have the opportunity to engage Mr. Attah-Mensah on a variety of subjects about his career and life experiences.
The event forms part of a series of Social Media themed stakeholder engagements and is being held on the theme; “Stories with great influence comes great responsibility.”
The hour-long interactive session is being held today (25th September 2019) from 11 am to 12 pm at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall.
Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah is credited for his involvement in the setting up of market-leading media organisations in Ghana since 1995; such as Multimedia (owners of Joy 99.7 FM and Joy News) and Omni Media Limited (Owners of Citi 97.3 FM, which is the biggest English language format radio station in Ghana) and Citi TV.
He started his career as an I.T. Systems Officer with the then ICL Computers and Digitronix Systems, combining systems work with Sales and Marketing.
He then veered into Media, first as a passion and eventually building a career out of it. He became the Director of Programmes for Multimedia Broadcasting Ltd, helping with the setup of Luv FM and Adom FM.
Under his result-oriented leadership, Citi FM produced Ghana’s 2018 Journalist of the Year and has won numerous awards from the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).
Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah also worked as a Market Development Manager for Coca-Cola West Africa in Liberia and Sierra Leone where he was involved in rebuilding Coca-Cola’s presence in these countries after the civil wars.
With his wealth of experience in marketing operations, Samuel also serves as Director of Dannex Pharmaceuticals Limited in Ghana.
Further, with a background as a lecturer in some universities in Ghana, he is a regular conference and seminar speaker.
Attah-Mensah is a fellow of the Aspen Institute as well as the African Leadership Initiative.
Other speakers at this year’s Social Media week event include the General Manager of Citi FM/Citi TV, Bernard Avle together with Mr. Kojo Akoto Boateng and AJ Sarpong will be panellists for the session on; Social Media and news reportage: The Media, politics and the civil society in the era of fake news and online shaming.
Mr. Avle’s session will be held on the 26th of September, also at the Silverbird Cinemas.
Philip Kofi Ashon, Citi TV’s head of Production and host of Citi FM’s technology review show, Citi Trends will also be speaking at this year’s event on the topic; using mobile apps to create short video format between 12noon to 1pm at the DSTV Training room, Abelemkpe.
