The Fisheries Commission has scheduled a meeting with family members of a fishing observer who went missing two months ago.
The meeting with the family of Emmanuel Essien is to brief them on major strides made so far.
Emmanuel Essien was declared missing after boarding a Chinese vessel Meng Xin 15 in July this year.
The crew could not indicate his whereabouts after five days of working with him.
All crew members were subsequently arrested and granted police enquiry bail by the Marine Police Unit at Tema.
The family had earlier accused authorities of doing little in the search for their missing relative.
Emmanuel Essien some two months ago embarked on a scheduled observer mission with the a fishing vessel but has since not been seen.
His colleagues alleged that the vessel returned from its deep-sea operations without Emmanuel.
It is standard practice to assign observers to foreign and local fishing vessels that fish in Ghanaian waters.
However, Chief Executive of the Fisheries Commission Michael Arthur Dadzie assured that efforts are underway to find the missing observer even though experts have faulted the Commission for failing to constitute an initial search party.
