MD Estate residents in East Legon have complained about air pollution from an oil refinery which threatens their health.

A resident explained that a petition was presented to the Environmental Protection Agency. However, there has been slow progress in addressing the issue. Also, they contacted other institutions such as NADMO and Ghana National Fire Service because of a possible emission of highly inflammable gas but have not had any response.
