Grooming Girls Network, a non-governmental organization that focuses on improving the lives of less privileged children has organized it’s maiden Christmas fest in Accra.
The occasion was aimed at celebrating the festive season with less privileged children to commemorate the Love of God through the giving of his beloved son to save the world.
The celebration which took place at Bukom a suburb of Accra had about 500 children participating in the celebration.
The National Coordinator of Grooming Girls Network, Nanayaa Amoako Baffoe called on Ghanaians to support communities crippled by inadequate social amenities to help improve the standard of living among fellow Ghanaians.
The project was aimed at providing a motherly love for the children and helping them to happily celebrate Christmas.
“We decided to do this to make children from deprived communities know that they not alone and that we love and cherish them. Coming next year we are hoping to make it big and feed more children than we did this year.
We are open for support and partnership. Most of the things we do are through internally generated funds and support from a few friends.”
She further explained that this project will either help teenage mothers to school or help them learn handy work so they will be able to take care of themselves and their child or children.
