Parliamentary candidate for the NPP at the Ajumako Enyan Essiam constituency Dr. Rashid Etuaful has launched the ‘Let there be light’ project in his constituency to provide supplementary lighting to members of the community.
The move was necessitated by the poor lighting system in the constituency which has affected some of the major streets, various communities and some public institutions.
The project which is expected to distribute about four hundred LED streetlights and about four thousand street bulbs to the various communities in the constituency kickstarted the distribution by donating fifty LED lights to the Ajumako campus of the University of Education Winneba to light up every corner of the campus.
Speaking at the donation, Dr. Rashid Etuaful explained ‘ I realized that the lighting system is poor in the constituency, so my team and I deemed it fit to launch this project to supplement the lighting system to increase the visibility and to to beef up the security here’.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the university, the principal expressed his appreciation and thanked the team for such a timely project as the campus has been facing some security issues.
The project is expected to continue throughout the month of March to light up the Ajumako constituency.
